WHAT IS REIKI?

Reiki is a balancing practise.
It influences the energetic field towards balance, and symptoms fall away.

Reiki will accelerate your mental, emotional and spiritual growth and positively change your life.

Reiki (pronounced Ray-Key) is a method of natural healing based on the application of Universal Life Force Energy.  The name literally means Universal Life Force Energy. 

The Usui healing system, commonly known as Reiki, has its roots in traditional Chinese medicine and Shontoist Buddhism. The whole system is driven solely by the intent of the practitioner who has at their disposal a number of  'tools' that affect the way the energy is directed. Reiki is the art of natural healing through specific teachings and attunements or initiations, that attune you to a language of sounds and symbols.

The Reiki practitioner is connected to the system by the method of 'connecting transformations' or 'Attunements'. These provide a complete connection and are a fundamental part of the process and the system that is Reiki.

THE MEANING OF REIKI

Rei -    Spiritual Wisdom,
            soul, divine, sacred,   
            spirit

The word Rei means ‘universal’ or more accurately the “higher spiritual consciousness”, the “divine consciousness” or the all knowing “God force”.  This is the universal energy of love consciousness that we are all connected to and apart of.

Ki -     The Life Force energy 

Ki is the essential life force of the Earth, the planets and stars.  Everything alive contains Ki and radiates it.  It is the bio-magnetic energy of the aura.  This energy is the life force itself and has many names.  Chi in China, Prana in India, Orenda by the Native Americans.

While everything in life has Ki, a Reiki attunement connects the receiver in an increased way to its limitless source.

Therefore Reiki simply means:

Universal Life Force Energy

OR

Spiritually guided Life Force Energy
